Music Group
What is the Music Group?
The Music Group provides opportunities to make and enjoy new friendships through musical activities. It may help stimulate new, and retain existing, interest and skills in music and also maintain mental and physical abilities. It is a unique opportunity to enhance the lives of older people through music.
What happens at the Music Group?
There are sing-a-longs, guest musical visitors, music quizzes (where the best “cheat” wins) or sessions that may be devoted to musicals, jazz, Beethoven, Frank Sinatra, Opera or Elvis. Or you might just chat and have a cup of tea sitting around the piano.
The group is conducted by Lyn Thomas, a qualified Music Teacher and Music Therapist, who has spent many years teaching music to both adults and children.
Days of Operation
The Music Group is conducted fortnightly on Fridays at the East Doncaster Baptist Church. The group runs for 2 hours between 10.00am and 12.00pm.
Transport to the Group and a light morning tea are provided for a small cost.
