Child & Family Services

The speech pathology service assists children aged from 0 to 6 years who have difficulties or delays with language and/or communication, including:

Articulation (production of sounds)
Receptive Language (understanding what other people are saying)
Expressive Language (using words and putting words together to communicate)
Fluency (stuttering)
Voice
Pragmatics (social rules of language)

Who is eligible?

Children who:

Are aged from 0 to 6 years / school entry
Live in the City of Manningham

Present with a speech, language and/or communication impairment only

What does the service offer/What can the service do for my child?:

The Speech Pathology service can provide:

Assessment
Reporting
Individual therapy
Home programs
Family education
Consultation to other service providers (e.g. pre-schools, child care)
Referral to other services if appropriate

How much does it cost?

The fee of this service is based on the Department of Human Services fee structure and is adjusted according to income.

Note: Interpreters can be arranged free of charge.
