Volunteer Program

Do something you love and give back to our community

Our volunteer program generously supports us in creating a healthier and more inclusive community. With a dedicated team of over 60 people of all ages, volunteers work across a vast range of community and health care services providing more than 7,000 hours of service per annum.

Volunteering at Manningham Community Health Service is a rewarding role. It allows you to connect to the community and help you make new friends, expand your network and boost your work and social skills.

Volunteer Driver

We are seeking expressions of interest from people who would be interested in being a volunteer driver for Manningham Community Health Services Limited – Transport and Volunteer Program. Our program is in need of volunteers to drive frail elderly people, people with mobility issues and people with disabilities to various medical appointments, recreational activities and leisure groups. We have a fleet of cars and a mini bus that can be used to drive our clients, or if you choose to drive your own vehicle, a small reimbursement is availabale.

The amount of time, frequency and days is negotiable. It could be once a week, one a fortnight or once a month. Any time commitment, big or small, would be greatly appreciated.

We require people who are kind and patient, who enjoy driving, have some spare time and would like to contribute to their local community. Volunteering can be a very worthwhile and rewarding experience and has been shown by research to be good for your health.

Men's Shed Volunteer

The Men’s Shed program provides the sanctuary of a shed to men of all ages and backgrounds where they can socialise with mates, whilst making or ‘fixing things’.

It aims to fill a gap in men’s lives and bring positive returns to men and the community.

Volunteers help run the shed’s activities. The positive and productive environment of the Men’s Shed is always offering something new for volunteers to do.

Artlinks Volunteer

Artlinks is an established social activity group of Manningham Community Health Services Limited and provides members of the Manningham Community to get together and foster friendships, participate in art and craft projects, share a ‘cuppa’ and have some fun.

Artlinks runs every Wednesday, and is seeking volunteers to support the facilitator in running the program. The group is held at the Warrandyte Senior Citizens Centre.

Community Advisor

Volunteer Community Advisors share their ideas about how the community health service can grow and develop to better support our community. It might be as simple as telling us what you think of our waiting room or if you don’t like a new group flyer. Simply tell us your thoughts, easy! It can be in person, on the phone or via email, whatever suits you.

Administration Volunteer

The role of a Volunteer Administration Assistant is ‘hands on’ and would suit someone who is able to work both independently and as part of a team. Ideally our volunteer administration assistants would have good communication and customer service skills, be able to perform general office duties, have basic computer skills and assist with reception tasks such as making and answering phone calls, as well as supporting other staff members as needed. This role is a vital part of the organisation, and training is provided.

To enquire about any of our programs or register your interest in any of the volunteer roles please call us on (03) 8841 3000 or email mchs@mannchs.org.au
