Low impact exercise group for fitness, relaxation and general conditioning

Hydrotherapy is low impact exercise and can help with pain management, fitness and relaxation. The programs take place in special warm water (32°-34°) pools. The heat of the water helps with pain management and relaxation. This combined with an exercise program can lead to maintenance of general function and prevent physical decline.

Introduction to Hydrotherapy

This is an 8 week gentle, low impact program where you can learn about the benefits of exercising in a warm water (34°) pool.

This class is suitable for people with arthritis, lower back pain or other muscle and joint pain.

An assessment needs to completed with a physiotherapist prior to starting the program.

Once the program is completed advice will be provided on how to access further ongoing programs.

A maintenance program for those who have completed the Introduction to Hydrotherapy course and would like to continue with on going weekly Hydrotherapy classes.

Regular participation in the Hydrotherapy group can enhance relaxation, improve general fitness and physical functioning.

New clients will require and assessment appointment with a Physiotherapist, and will then be booked into the appropriate hydrotherapy program.

Anyone can refer to this service. Referrals can be made via phone, fax, or electronic referral (email/S2S/Eref).
