Helping children, parents and families

Our Psychologists help children work through their concerns, and can provide support and effective strategies for parents. Our Psychologists focus on helping children and their families work through challenges in a safe and supportive environment. Sessions with young children are often fun and play based.

Our psychologists are available to see children and youth aged 0-18 years in the areas of:

  • Behaviour difficulties
  • Managing emotions
  • Conflicts with others
  • Development of Social Skills and confidence
  • Learning difficulties

  • Assessments (e.g.Psychological, cognitive, behavioural)
  • Parenting Support
  • Individual Counselling
  • Parent Group Education Programs

APPOINTMENTS AND REFERRALS

Anyone can refer to this service. Referrals can be made via phone, fax, or electronic referral (email/S2S/Eref).

A GP referral may be required to access some funding streams (e.g. Mental Health Plan, Chronic Disease management Plan, Helping Children with Autism Plan).

Funding options for this service include:

  • Community Health (public)
  • GP Care Plan – Chronic Disease Management
  • GP Care Plan – Mental Health Plan
  • GP care Plan – Helping Children with Autism (up to 17 years old)
  • Helping Children with Autism Package (up to 7 years old)
  • Full fee covered by the family
