Enjoy socialising and making new friends through musical activities

WHAT IS THE MUSIC GROUP?

The Music Group provides opportunities to make and enjoy new friendships through the participation in musical activities. It may help stimulate new, and retain existing, interest and skills in music and also maintain mental and physical abilities. It is a unique opportunity to enhance the lives of older people through music.

Some of the benefits of music can include:

  • Improving social connections
  • Reduced stress and anxiety
  • Enhanced memory
  • Fosters creativity
  • Improved health, wellbeing and quality of life

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE MUSIC GROUP?

The music group meet regularly to share and enjoy a variety of music and activities. There are sing-a-longs, guest musical visitors, music quizzes, or sessions that may be devoted to musicals, jazz, Beethoven, Frank Sinatra, Opera or Elvis. Or you might just chat and have a cup of tea sitting around the piano.

Transport to the Group and a light morning tea are provided for a small cost.
